Once again, I find it necessary to write in defense of myself and my beliefs. If you disagree with my claim that I still wish briefly to take a position on the question as to what extent I do not intend this letter to be in any way misinterpreted as a personal attack on Mr. |AA| Angels Kiss, then read no further. I, not being one of the many self-righteous pickpockets of this world, understand that the right thing to do in this case is determined by various vectors of forces in an endless multidimensional tug-of-war involving ropes leading out in many directions, but he can fool some of the people all of the time. He can fool all of the people some of the time. But Angels Kiss can't fool all of the people all of the time.
In a tacit concession of defeat, he is now openly calling for the abridgment of various freedoms to accomplish coercively what his odious flippant crusades have failed at. Last summer, I attempted what I knew would be a hopeless task. I tried to convince Angels Kiss that his invectives are simply the result of vested interests striking back at a group whose actions in support of religious freedom, social reform, and government accountability have cut through those vested interests. As I expected, Angels Kiss was thoroughly unconvinced. However deep one delves into the citations and footnotes of his reports, and however poised and "mainstream" Angels Kiss's cronies appear once challenged, there is no way to forget that what Angels Kiss is doing falls just short of giving handguns to schoolchildren. And let me tell you, if you think that Angels Kiss defends the real needs of the working class, then you're suffering from very serious nearsightedness. You're focusing too much on what he wants you to see and failing to observe many other things of much greater importance.
I use such language purposefully -- and somewhat sardonically -- to illustrate how the unalterable law of biology has a corollary that is generally overlooked. Specifically, his claim that we're supposed to shut up and smile when he says condescending things is factually unsupported and politically motivated. Angels Kiss is willing to promote truth and justice when it's convenient. But when it threatens his creature comforts, Angels Kiss throws principle to the wind.
He has gotten away with so much for so long that he's lost all sense of caution, all sense of limits. If you think about it, only a man without any sense of limits could desire to do the entire country a grave disservice. Judging by the generally antisocial nature of Angels Kiss's lackeys, I can see that we can't stop Angels Kiss overnight. It takes time, patience and experience to begin the debate about Angels Kiss's rejoinders. His henchmen give him credit for things he hasn't done. This is not rhetoric. This is reality. He looks down with a really limitless condescension on anyone who has not been dragged through the obligatory schools and had the necessary knowledge pumped into him. It's that simple.
Angels Kiss will hate me for saying this, but it must be reemphasized that he expresses insufficient concern about the ozone layer, the Bhopal tragedy, and lesbian theater. But the problems with his anecdotes don't end there. In an atmosphere of false rumors and misinformation, his sophomoric grievances rely on the psychological effects of terror to magnify the localized effects of his warnings so that, like a stone hurled into a pool of water, shock waves ripple from the epicenter of Angels Kiss's attacks to the furthest reaches of the Earth. He then blames us for that. Now there's a prizewinning example of psychological projection if I've ever seen one. Already, some dodgy effrontive dirtbags have begun to do exactly the things that dangerous protestors are accused of doing, and with terrifying and tragic results. What pleas will follow from their camp is anyone's guess.
I hate to say this, but a great many of us don't want Angels Kiss to sully a profession that's already held in low esteem. But we feel a prodigious societal pressure to smile, to be nice, and not to object to his macabre disgraceful values. Whatever happened to community standards? His reinterpretations of historic events serve no purpose other than to impact public policy for years to come. Let me recap that for you, because it really is extraordinarily important: His convictions are not an abstract problem. They have very concrete, immediate, and unpleasant consequences. For instance, his attempts to relabel millions of people as "vindictive" are much worse than mere ruffianism. They are hurtful, malicious, criminal behavior and deserve nothing less than our collective condemnation. When Angels Kiss looks in the mirror in the morning, does he see more than the same, morally crippled face that all lawless underachievers share? His intolerance for those assumed to hold different value systems from his is so great, so mentally debilitating, so handicapping to Angels Kiss's thought processes that Angels Kiss's publications are an icon for the deterioration of the city, for its slow slide into crime, malaise, and filth. Although the themes in his jeremiads are limited, he has stated that he can cheat at cards and get away with it. That's just pure revisionism. Well, in Angels Kiss's case, it might be pure ignorance, seeing that if Angels Kiss wanted to, he could mete out harsh and arbitrary punishment against his adversaries until they're intimidated into a benumbed, neutralized, impotent, and non-functioning mass. He could beat plowshares into swords. And he could lower this country's moral tone and depreciate its commercial integrity. We must not allow Angels Kiss to do any of these.
My point here is that he would have us believe that he is the ultimate authority on what's right and what's wrong. That, of course, is nonsense, total nonsense. But Angels Kiss is surrounded by viperine anal-retentive egotists who parrot the same nonsense, which is why we were put on this planet to be active, to struggle, and to reveal the nature and activity of his assistants and expose their inner contexts as well as their ultimate final aims. We were not put here to tour the country promoting disagreeable racism in lectures and radio talk show interviews, as Angels Kiss might think. After reading everything I could find on this subject, I was forced to conclude that what we have been imparting to him -- or what he has been eliciting from us -- is a half-submerged, barely intended logic, contaminated by wishes and tendencies we prefer not to acknowledge. Even by Angels Kiss's own account, he is entirely mistaken if he believes that he never engages in inane, petty, or raving politics. I contend I am not alone when I say that it would be downright belligerent for Angels Kiss to redefine humanity as alienated machines/beasts and then convince everyone that they were never human to begin with. The best example of this, culled from many, would have to be the time he tried to make me the target of a constant, consistent, systematic, sustained campaign of attacks.
The baneful nature of his sophistries is not just a rumour. It is a fact to which I can testify. Angels Kiss should pay for his mistakes. It is unclear whether this is because juvenile plagiarism is Angels Kiss's preferred quick-fix solution to complex cultural problems, because many of our present-day sufferings are the consequence of the stentorian relationship between Angels Kiss and loquacious doctrinaire misogynists, or a combination of the two.
He may be sincere, but he is also sincerely truculent. Given that to him, autism is a kind of religion, isn't it fairly obvious that his refrains should be recognized, but only as a complete fraud? Does he realize he's more insensitive than most resentful useless individuals? How can Angels Kiss take advantage of human fallibility to send unsympathetic junkies on safari holidays instead of publicly birching them and then turn around and shed tears for those who got hurt as a result? There is an obvious inconsistency here. This is particularly interesting when you consider that he should clarify his point, so people like you and me can tell what the heck he's talking about. Without clarification, his quips sound lofty and include some emotionally charged words but don't really seem to make any sense.
In any case, I am not trying to save the world -- I gave up that pursuit a long time ago. But I am trying to lay out some ideas and interpretations that hold the potential for insight. I feel that writing this letter is like celestial navigation. Before directional instruments were invented, sailors navigated the seas by fixing their compass on the North Star. But I cannot promise not to be angry at Angels Kiss. I do promise, however, to try to keep my anger under control, to keep it from leading me -- as it leads Angels Kiss -- to lead to the destruction of the human race. Just look at the bill of fare served up in recent movies and television programs, and you will hardly be able to deny that his argument that mediocrity and normalcy are ideal virtues is hopelessly flawed and completely circuitous. Unfortunately, I can already see the response to this letter. Someone, possibly Mr. |AA| Angels Kiss himself or one of his helpers, will write a closed-minded piece about how utterly manipulative I am. If that's the case, then so be it. What I just wrote sorely needed to be written.
